General Information


You spend a lot of time in the car – it is your key to mobility in everyday life, even for short trips like to the bakery or supermarket. Therefore, take enough time before purchasing to sit in your desired vehicle and try transitioning from the wheelchair to the driver's seat.

  • Is it possible without a transfer aid or sliding board? 
  • ​Is it easier than in the old car? 
  • ​Does the trunk lid open easily or heavily, does it need to be automated? 
  • ​What electronic aids are available from the factory? 

The good thing? Our loading aids are suitable for all cars.

Manufacturer guidelines at the product level

​Ladeboy folded:Possible in almost every vehicle. The larger the trunk, the higher the likelihood that all seats will remain available. With our telescopic retraction, you can often obtain additional seats for an extra charge.

​Ladeboy for unfolded wheelchairs: Requires high-roof station wagons or vans, i.e., vehicles with a high trunk.

​Liftfriend: Requires high-roof station wagons or vans, i.e., vehicles with a high trunk.

​Ladeboy S2: Possible in almost any four-door vehicle. The lower and wider the vehicle, the higher the likelihood that a seat in the back will remain available.

​Ladeboy S2 with swing module: Fahrzeug mit Schiebetür erforderlich. Ein zusätzlicher Sitzplatz bleibt auf der Rücksitzbank erhalten.

​Ladeboy S2 for unfolded wheelchairs: Vehicle with sliding door required.

​Scooterboy: Requires high-roof station wagons or vans, so vehicles with a high trunk.

Which wheelchair fits in my car?


Each car is individually measured by us, resulting in different wheelchair dimensions and a comprehensive vehicle database. We can provide you with the maximum permissible wheelchair dimensions for almost all models, including very old cars.

How wide can my wheelchair be for unfolded loading?


Unfolded loading of your wheelchair is ergonomically the most comfortable solution. Therefore, it is one of the most popular options we offer on the market.

We would be happy to provide you with an overview of the maximum possible wheelchair width (unfolded) for the vehicles we serve on the following landing page.
