Often, for example, the statutory pension insurance or the Federal Employment Agency is involved. In certain cases, benefits from accompanying assistance in working and professional life, statutory accident insurance, or war victim care also play a role.

For a cost coverage to be approved, the solution must be sensible, comprehensible, and economical. Therefore, we plan the conversion in such a way that it reliably meets your requirements without causing unnecessary costs.

If a vehicle is necessary to reach the workplace, training facility, or measures for vocational education, vehicle assistance may be considered as part of professional participation.

Depending on the case, different components may be funded. This includes support for purchasing a vehicle. This grant is usually income-dependent and is generally limited to 22,000 euros; in special cases, a higher amount may be possible if the type or severity of the disability necessitates it.

On the other hand, disability-related additional equipment (such as wheelchair loading systems) can be covered.This part is typically not tied to income.

In practice, it is important for approval that you are permanently dependent on a car to reach work or education, and that other solutions such as public transport or a driving service are not reasonable or economically viable in the long term.

Which authority is responsible for your application primarily depends on your professional background. Generally, the following applies:

• Federal Employment Agency:if you have been employed subject to pension insurance for less than 15 years.
• Pension Insurance Provider:after at least 15 years of employment subject to pension insurance.
• ​ Integration Office:supports employed individuals with disabilities when no other authority is responsible (self-employed, civil servants).

Important: You should only initiate purchases, appraisals, modifications, or contract conclusions once a written decision from the cost bearer is available.

If there is no employment or training relationship, benefits under social participation may be possible. The basis for this is particularly the mobility benefits according to § 83 SGB IX. Accordingly, benefits for mobility (§ 83 SGB IX, paragraph 1) include:

Services for transportation, particularly by a transport service, and

Services for a motor vehicle.

(2) Benefits according to paragraph 1 are granted to eligible individuals under § 2, for whom the use of public transportation is unreasonable due to the nature and severity of their disability.

Services according to paragraph 1 number 2 are only provided if the beneficiaries can drive the vehicle themselves or it is ensured that a third party drives the vehicle for them, and services according to paragraph 1 number 1 are not reasonable or economical.

The services according to paragraph 1 number 2 include services

1. for the procurement of a motor vehicle ,

2. for the necessary additional equipment ,

3. to obtain a driver's license ,

4. for maintenance and

5. for the costs associated with the operation of the motor vehicle. "

The assessment of benefits is based on the Vehicle Assistance Regulation.

Furthermore, wheelchair loading systems are also eligible for funding under social participation in accordance with SGB IX § 113 Services for Social Participation.

(2) Services for social participation are in particular

1. Services for living spaces ,

2.Assistant services ,

3. remedial educational services ,

4. Services for care in a foster family ,

5. Services for the acquisition and maintenance of practical knowledge and skills ,

6. Services to Promote Communication ,

7. Services for mobility ,

8. Assistive devices ,

9. Visit subsidies .

The amount is often based on the principles of the Motor Vehicle Assistance Regulation (KfzHV). .

Achtung: Integration assistance benefits are generally subordinate. This means they are only considered if the necessary support cannot be provided by other carriers or in another reasonable manner. In this context, income and asset conditions are usually also examined. .

Responsibilities can be organized differently depending on the federal state; often, social welfare offices or regional providers are involved.

There are also guidelines for administrative practice, such as recommendations from the Federal Working Group of Regional Providers of Social Assistance (BAGüS) regarding benefits for a motor vehicle within the framework of social participation.

If financing through service providers is not possible or insufficient, foundations or associations can also provide support. Since there are many programs with different requirements, documents, and deadlines, a structured approach is worthwhile.
